6 Steps for Winter Skincare Ritual
Oh, its that time of the year. Its cold outside but at the same time we all want to look beautiful and radiant, Right? Looking glowing and radiant boosts your confidence and spreads positivity among people around you. After all its festival time . Christmas, parties, family gatherings. Hmmmmm….
So lets dive right in-
1. Don’t forget to hydrate
Drink enough water. The air is cold and dry. Even inside the house it gets dry because of the heater. Nopes not the endless coffees and colas please. Try some nice warming soups and hearty broths instead.
Tips: Drink a full glass of warm water first thing in the morning before you hit the coffee machine. Choose a nice cozy corner of your home, sit down and take small sips.
2. Cleanse with a mild cleanser
Anything too harsh and chemical laden will strip your skin off the natural oils.
Tips: A milk-based cleanser can be a good option for face cleansing.
Likewise a mild and gentle body wash for your body is suitable for these harsh winter days.
3. Applying oil before bath
This is called ‘Abhayanga’. Ok, don’t stress on the name. Its simple.
Tips: Just lather and gently massage your body with some oil. In winter I suggest you use Sesame Oil. It is a warm oil and is good for body massage. You can take a bath after this.
4. Apply a good moisturizer
Use a good moisturizer all over your body. Make sure the exposed areas of your body are moisturized properly. Like the face neck and hands.
Tips: Keep a small moisturize bottle or tube handy in your purse.
5. Night time skincare:
This is the most important part of your daily skincare regime, which a lot of us tend to skip or take a short cut.
Tips: Use a mild cleanser to take off the makeup and cleanse your skin gently. Pat dry. Use a good quality face night cream.
6. Get a good night sleep
I cannot stress this enough, but a peaceful restive sleep for at least 7-9 hours is required for your skin to repair, rejuvenate and glow.
Tips: Get off your phone. Listen to some soothing music, read a book. Talk to your family. All these activities help you to calm down and sleep like a baby!
